Science Meets Service
We're hosting the first ever DataDive at the University of Michigan THIS WEEKEND, February 10 - 12, 2012! And we want you to come! A weekend full of data analysis, visualization, and workshops all to help non-profits in the Ann Arbor - Detroit area.
Inspired by the organization Data Without Borders, the School of Information and Open.Michigan are teaming up to bring together data scientists with non-profits in need of help. Over the course of one weekend, data geeks will clean, parse, mine, analyze, map, and visualize large data sets, volunteering their skills to non-profits that otherwise would be unable to use their information in any meaningful way. There's no rules, there's no set schedule. Think of a hack-a-thon or design jam, but for data!
Check out the rest of our site for more information on what we're doing, and how you can get involved!
Registration for this event is closed (it was in Feb 2012) but stay tuned for A2 Datadive 2013! also, check us out on Facebook
